Day 3

Departing from the hotel after breakfast, you begin your adventure with a 2 hour drive along the winding roads through Morocco’s gorges and valleys, to the Berber trailhead village of Imlil. On the way, you’ll stop at Terres D’Amanar adventure park, where there are various zip lines, high ropes course obstacles, and ground activities like archery and craft workshops. On arriving at Imlil, you can hike or ride mules to Kasbah du Toubkal, your base for the next two nights. Taking a great suite, with an adjoining triple room, the views from the Kasbah are spectacular. Overnight Kasbah du Toubkal 1x Apartment Suite and 1x Triple Room, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 4

A chance to spend a fabulously rewarding day in a Berber village.  A local guide will lead you up to a traditional Berber village to meet the family with whom you will spend your day. This is a timeless place, where you will experience life as it is (not staged for tourists) and, indeed, how it has been for centuries in these remote mountain villages. After enjoying a traditional Berber breakfast of olives, bread and olive oil washed down with mint tea, you take the bread dough to the communal clay oven where it is baked over a wood fire.  On returning to the kitchen with your bread, young and old will then help to prepare your very own tagine for lunch, with guidance from your host. Whilst this is slowly cooking, you can help in the fields below the village, gathering grass to feed the cows, perhaps, or picking fruit from the orchards for the next meal it all depends what today’s chores are. Life here is very sociable and you may also drop in on a neighbour to catch up on the latest news or take your turn at weaving a colourful Berber rug before tucking into the delicious tagine you prepared earlier. Before bidding adieu, you may be invited to drop in to visit the local children – a privileged opportunity to see how different it is growing up in the High Atlas Mountains.  The schedule of this day is never fixed as it is truly a day in the life of a local.

There is also a venue for abseiling in the vicinity, which is a short walk away and can be combined with the Berber family day.

Overnight Kasbah du Toubkal 1x Apartment Suite and 1x Triple Room, bed and breakfast basis.

Day 5

Today you can hike near the Kasbah, or explore the small village of Imlil. In the afternoon, it’s time to head back to marrakech for an evening flight back to London at 19:35.
